Loday is a passionate cultural guide with deep knowledge of Bhutan’s Buddhist heritage. His extensive knowledge of Buddhism is truly inspiring, and he takes great pride in sharing this wisdom with others. His humor and warmth make every trip memorable. A devoted family man, Loday’s gentle nature and joy create lasting connections with guests.  

Sonam
Sonam
is a dedicated cultural guide known for his welcoming nature and enthusiasm. He’s always eager to share insights and make guests feel at home. Often saying, “If you have any questions, please do, just let me know.” His love of games and learning adds fun to every trip, ensuring smooth and memorable experiences. Whether guiding treks, hikes, or helping with various tasks, Sonam is always willing to lend a hand and ensure everything runs smoothly. 

Chenco
Chenco is an expert paddle guide with a deep passion for both the rivers and the people he guides. Known for his ability to bring people together, both on and off the raft, Chenco creates a strong sense of camaraderie among his guests. With extensive knowledge of Bhutan’s culture and landscapes, he shares insights that enhance every experience. His smile and infectious personality make him a joy to be around, whether on the river or during downtime.

Thinley

Thinley is an adventurous and dedicated individual who thrives on both the water and in the company of others. Passionate about kayaking, he loves surfing the waves and performing paddle tricks, embracing the thrill of the river’s rhythm.  Known for his hard work and infectious smile, Thinley combines his love for the outdoors with a strong commitment to hospitality. His enthusiasm for Bhutan’s natural beauty and his ability to connect with people make him a standout guide. Whether guiding guests down the river or crafting thoughtful designs for their arrival, Thinley’s dedication and positive spirit shine through in everything he does.

Birkha
Birkha
grew up in a small village in the southern part of Bhutan, where he developed a love for adventure and the outdoors. He’s a fun-loving raft guide, who thrives on the connection he builds with guests. His humor and joyful spirit bring energy to every trip. A natural jokester, Birkha brings laughter and lightheartedness to every trip, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for guests. You’ll spot him in his signature golden helmet. 

Karma
Karma is the bus driver with impeccable style and attention to detail. His clean bus and great music make every ride enjoyable. Known for surprising guests with local candies, Karma’s charm and warmth ensure smooth travels and memorable moments.
With a great taste in music, Karma often plays fun tunes to set the mood for the journey. He’s also known for surprising guests with delicious local candies, adding a sweet touch to the trip.

Tate

Tate discovered her deep love for Bhutan the moment she stepped off the plane on her first visit, and that connection has only grown stronger over time. She’s passionate about sharing the beauty and serenity of the country with others, hoping to inspire them as she was inspired. Raised on river trips with her grandpa and mom, Tate developed a profound appreciation for nature and adventure early on. After becoming a commercial river guide, she’s spent the last four years helping others experience the thrill of the river, always prioritizing meaningful connections with people and the natural world. For Tate, these connections are what truly energize her. With her endless love for Bhutan, she hopes to share that magic with countless others, offering them a glimpse into a place that has captured her heart.

Zach

Zach has been a passionate visitor of Bhutan for the past 15 years, forging deep connections with the country and its people along the way. As the founder of Northwest Rafting Company, he has spent his life immersed in adventure and river conservation, always seeking ways to protect and celebrate the natural world. A longtime lover of the outdoors, Zach enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and playing with their dogs, Pippen and Gus. Over the years, he has fostered incredible relationships with the guides in Bhutan, building a network of shared experiences and mutual respect. Whether he’s crafting new adventures or sharing them with guests, Zach’s love for exploration and his commitment to conservation remain at the heart of everything he does.
